Super Mario Bros on NES. I was 3 and used to play it with my mom and it is a very good memory of her that I still remember.

I think my first game was Pitfall that was on Atari. I suppose my most memory of it was successfully jumping over the crocodiles and not hearing that death song.

The first game I played was Pokemon Red, it's what got me into gaming. I remember getting a GameBoy Color and Pokemon Red while on a football (or soccer) trip one summer and playing it with a bunch of other kids on a bus ride home. I distinctly remember not really understanding how evolution worked and thought it was random. I chose Charmander as my starter and remember reasoning that Charmeleon took so long (in my 8 year old mind) to evolve was that in the anime Charmeleon was stubborn so it had to grow to like me more.

Tetris & Dr. Mario on SNES at my grandparents. They used to play that against each other. Some of the most brutal gaming I have ever seen. It was many years later that I had my own gaming platform. I think they had a major influence on me regarding my gaming habits.

Banjo Kazooie
Fondest memory was getting home from school and getting those jiggies.

My first home game was Combat on 2600, but frankly I have more vivid/fond memories of other 2600 games, like Atlantis, The Empire Strikes Back, Pitfall, etc.

Many years ago i got an Intellivison for christmas when i was 8.
It came with three games, Space Battle, Armour Battle and a football game.
It was the best Christmas i had as kid. Even now 36 years later (ouch, that hurt) i still have the console and it still works.

It wasn't the first video game I had but Space Invaders on the Atari 2600 was an obsession of mine when I was young. My parents had an aunt babysit me once and she suggested playing the game with me. I got to go first. An hour or so later she got bored since I hadn't given her a turn yet

The first videogame I ever played was on the NES in the closing days of '93, leading into '94. It was my birthday, and my grandma bought me an NES and the combo cartridge that had Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt on it. My favorite memory associated with it, is just the amount of wonder that it brought me. It was unlike the toys and such I'd had until that point, I remember my room didn't get messed up for months because I was parked in the livingroom in front of the TV when my folks weren't watching it just trying to beat Super Mario Bros. If you would've asked the child version of me if I ever could've imagined videogames advancing as far as they have, and still are, I wouldn't have thought it possible. But no matter how far we've come in the technology, I'll never forget the point that started it all for me.

My oldest memory is the Atari 2600's circus atari, but my favorite memory was my first PC game. It was X-wing at a friends house. One person would fly the X-wing with the joystick and a second player would take the keyboard and manage the power and shields. We referred to this role as being the R2 unit. I also have some fond memories of making my own null modem cable with Radio Shack supplies to play Warcraft (off 4 floppies) as my first multiplayer PC game.

Yeah ^^ Sonic was damn hard.. still is in parts tbh.
These young uns with their health regen and respawns will never know the pain and the sheer dread we all experienced when we lost our last life and had to restart the whole damn game XD
Those old Sonic games were brutal haha and the countdown music that played when you were about to drown.. even now it makes me panic XD

Link to the past is one of the only SNES games I havent recovered on cartridge, I have to remedy that at some point.
I do have it on GBA though and can play it on the Tv with my Gamecube GBA attachment but it's not the same as having that proper SNES feeling ^^
It's good to see someone else had a similar experience as I did with controlling TV images.
It was kinda like playing cartoons to my young brain
I wonder how many hours I invested into A Link to the Past.. I know I beat the game before my mother though again XD and we never found the cape item either.
I didn't find that until many years later.
Even today we're both huge Zelda fans ^^

I don't recall exactly what my first one was, but I do remember being terrified by Nurse Edna chasing me in Maniac Mansion (1987).

I remember when i was about 3 or 4, my family had WAY more money than nowadays (we were like middle class, now we started being low class like 2 years later), so my dad bought a windows xp computer or something like that, and a friend of his gave him a cd with a emulator of this irl machines that you put coins in and play games, so i started playing and i remember playing Metal slug 3 with my sister and killing the final boss for the first time, we were both so happy that i still feel warmth inside me when i recall it.
