  • Do you play AAA or Indie?

I often play indie games because they're often cheaper than AAA titles (Despite not looking as good) and there was a fair few I thought was well worth the money 🤔 so I only have a few AAA games compared to the dozens of indie game I have.
Also, what games do you all enjoy from either AAA or Indie?

I play what I like, but I've been slowly moving away from AAA for a few years now. The only AAA franchise I still buy regularly is Far Cry. Haven't purchased an EA game for 5 years and I'm quite proud of it seeing what a circus that company has been in the last couple years.

Both. I find myself playing more indie games these days, as the AAA industry is going to shit, but I still bought AC Odyssey and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, so I'm not done with AAA companies quite yet.

The last couple years have been great for indie and AA developers, my personal biggest shoutouts going to "Divinity Original Sin 2" and "Senua's Sacrifice".

I find myself playing way more Indie games recently, but I still love a bunch of AAA games, like smash or The Witcher 3.

I play whatever looks good. As of late, the AAA industry has been boring me so I've been kicking back to some older games that I never got to finish as a kid and looking into smaller developers on Steam. I still keep an eye out for AAA, but it's not looking good right now.

I play both, but indie games always seem to be more unique in characters and worlds. Hollow Knight being my personal favorite because of the interesting world it sets up.

It's not as simple as "I play Triple A" or "I don't play Triple A". There's developers I trust and developers who've lost that trust. I don't want to play from Bethesda or Bioware anymore, for example, but that doesn't mean I don't want to play Triple A games - I'm hyped for The Outer Worlds and Doom Eternal, among others.

As for Indies? Again it's not as simple as "I play Indies", "I don't play Indies". I love the pixel horror genre, and seek them out. If you want a good dungeon crawler or a good looter-looter you're gonna need to go Indie. But I don't like "artsy" type games, I don't like the typical Indie adventure type game, etc.

I am much more likely to play /purchase indie games now. They cost less, they are often more inventive and take risks with mechanics and story. They support the dev directly.

But I also never pre-order because I absolutely want to know how buggy the game is before I get it.

I've seen myself playing games that were originally indie, (like undertale and minecraft(and maybe warframe))
idk why, prob cause I'm broke

I'm not confined to either. If an indie game is good, I will play it. Same goes for triple A. I wouldn't really say either one tends to be better than the other. AAA tends to be open world and somewhat monotonous but with good graphics and solid mechanics (provided it's not a glitchy mess), whereas indies can be really cool in terms of concept and staying true to the original creator's vision, but lacking in advanced graphics or impressive game mechanics. There are of course exceptions to this but the overall tendency tends to remain the same.

I can play Red Dead Redemption 2, no problem as well as games like Deltarune or anything in between. It's all a matter of how good the game is really.

Mostly aaa but a few indies as well. Probably a 6-1 ratio.

At first it was mainly AAA but once I noticed the Indie game scene its just been progressively overtaking AAA games. Nowadays I mainly play Indie games as I have more fun in them then I ever had in AAA games.

I can concur with Shadowlight. I always enjoyed the triple AAA games, but as things started falling upon on what brought them up. Indie games started to bring back those nostalgic vibe that the triple AAA companies used to have. I still play both, but leaning more towards Indie Games. My favorite so far is Divinity Original Sin 2. Battlemage ftw!

Can't forget stuff that really hit the nostalgia like Hollow Knight for instance. That game is a true work of art.
