    Favorite Rhythm games?

Hi all! Rhythm game fanatic here, currently only playing osu! mania as my primary game. Wondering if anybody knew any other games that have been holding your attention, it can be free to play or pay to play

I do got to say that DDR has a great feeling about it . But looking back i can just imagine the cringe of people watching me do normal mode at the movie theater with Techno music blaring and being extremely winded after said song was done . I much prefer the Xbox 360 dance mat one at home where you didn't have to care about looking dumb . All in all I give it tree-fidy out of a bus fare.

I think Rock Band will always be my GOAT rhythm action game, just because the addition of co-op makes any game better. That said I picked up Beat Saber the other day for PSVR and that definitely shot up there as soon as I started playing it. It's so immediate in VR you lose yourself in it from the first beat. For a more leftfield selection, I'd like to see Sony revisit Vib Ribbon with some sort of Spotify or at least local MP3 integration in the same way you could pop CDs into your PSone back in the day.

I miss Mad Maestro from the PS1. Rythem game of conducting orchestral classics? YES PLEASE. Never had a sequel, remake or release and had a fascinating pair of mechanics where on most levels the world reflects if your doing well or poorly. But it also had one utterly demonic mechanic where the 'final boss' equivalent was a recital. The last song on that was Ride of the Valkyries. (I love that piece) but you could not practice it and there were no checkpoints. So by the time I got through several songs to REACH Ride, I'm tired and have no practice with the song so I'm improvising. The game was hilariously cheesy in setup and it knew it. Perky Fairy talking about your 'musical powers' was just so silly it made me laugh with it.

It also had 3 versions of every beat, one perfect, one regular and one miss, so you could literally hear if you were doing well or not without anything but the music to work from. God I miss that game.

Greetings fair Naryo! I shall answer your query if I may. My ability to play such games is limited as these old wizard's bones are thousands of years old and held together by ancient magiks and sinew.

Though I must admit I too seem to have a soft spot for beat saber. It is the only game I'll ever watch people stream, and have had the pleasure to play it at the abode of an old friend. Something about it makes you feel like a conductor and a warrior all at once while moving in time with the music.

More along the lines of what we once loved, was the great Guitar Hero 3. I played much of that game, however those days are now mere echoes of the past. I do recall them fondly.

Then I do say the most obscure game I like to play, yea verily is thus a music game despite my lack of depth in the genre. If possible I will find an arcade machine for para para paradise 2nd mix. This is a rare beast and the one I knew, is now gone from where it once was, an annual indulgence of mine. If I could, I would cherish such a machine and to know where to play it again would please me. So for now I must dance alone to the ghost of a movement rarely seen anymore.

Thank you for your topic on this board. I leave you all with my magical blessings.

Rhythm games are almost always fun, but have to go with classic DDR or StepMania. They should install those things in gyms. Great workout.

I've played a ton of osu!, Beat Saber is good fun, Clone Hero is also fun if you're willing to pick up a compatible controller.

Depends on the platform, but there's a thread aleady discussing this very topic. To answer though I'd say DJ Max on ps4 or Bang Dreams on ISO/Android sound right up your alley if you like osu!
