Battle Royale Genre Jumping the Shark?

Just wondering if anyone else has had that sense of a big drop in popularity coming. Are we going to see the Battle Royale games like Fortnite continue to grow in 2019? Or will it decline?

It will decline eventually just like any fad previously. MOBA games, Survival/Zombie games, MMORPGs. It's a trend and it will be replaced. Dunno whether it's going to happen in 2019 or later though, closer to 2020 maybe.

I think it's more like, once these thing get close to or do hit peak saturation, they are no longer new or exciting,and so they just don't get as much attention. But maybe that's what you meant ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Eiher way, yea, BRs will probably die down in a year or even less.

I really hope it comes soon honestly. Im quite tired of this whole BR hype, pretty much same thing that happened to moba and in both cases it's pretty awful imo.
I think games like fortnite / COD BO 4 BR and maybe CS:GO will continue to grow in 2019 but other games are unlikely to get anywhere unless they bring a lot of new stuff into BR genre.

i guarantee you that this trend will fizzle out, just like Minecraft or any other fad with a mostly child fanbase
