How do you start into competitive Smash?

So I've played Ultimate and I really liked it. To the point that I've thought about jumping into the competitive scene, just to test my skills. Anybody in the scene? Any advice? Or is it just good to kinda jump in and go to some tournaments.

I work at an airline, so travel for several tournaments is easy.

The first thing would be to get used to the feel of a character and how the work and then to learn match ups. Learn your bnbs.

It's fine to just go into tournaments. I've only been to a couple, but they were fun. Only a couple people I wouldn't want to hang around with. If you can find one, feel free to check it out.


Also, bring your own controller.
