Game entering your dreams

Oftentimes when I have really long play sessions I dream about the game that night, does it happen to you? In my case it really is more like a nightmare, not for being scary, but for being frustrating, as it often is the case that the dream is kind of a loop, always trying to achieve the same thing but never being quite able to lol

Oh wait, now that you mentioned Prime, I also remember I also had a dream about Metroid Prime. I think mine was more about the alien planet and not space itself.

I remember dreaming about gothic after like 4th day where i played for entire day as a kid and still didnt do half of act 1. Damn i was dumb back then.

I've had several dreams about Metroid Prime games that I remember and a bunch of more vague ones all of them relatively nice ones or wait, I guess the one about being a sun or a solar system or something was sort of unpleasant but I'm not sure how videogame related it was, I think I had played some space 4x game around that time.

I remember having Skyrim dreams, part of the reason I stopped playing.

I remember after playing for a few hours when I stopped it almost looked like the TV was moving upwards, that's how I found out moving afterimages are a thing.

Played so much Shadowrun on Sega Genesis had dreams about hacking .,...

Yeah, I've had quite a few dreams about my favorite games. An example of one is where I was running around Crow's Nest in Halo 3, killing all the soldiers. Needless to say, that was one of my favorite activities in the game.

I used to have dreams that I was Mario flying around the mushroom kingdom, strange thing is that I never particularly liked Mario

The point of sleep is for your brain to sort through the new junk that entered. So if you've played the hell out of a game, especially a new one, then obviously that takes up a big chunk of your mind for that day.

This is my guess, I have no science to back this up, but I imagine it is something along those lines.

This rarely happens to me, and I cant remember the ganes where it DID happen.
the only one that I remember dreaming of was an MMO which makes sense but thats about it.
(The MMO was an old free game I used to play called "Fiesta Online", its not a well known one)
