Most fantasy games stick to a pretty standard choice when it comes to damage options you have. The magic, melee, and ranged (archery) choices. So which do you tend to prefer, assuming all are well done and none are broken or overpowered; simply from person preference.
I almost always go with a melee character, preferably with the biggest 2 handed weapon I can get. Ever since I saw Berserk long ago, Guts swinging his sword, I have always gone that route in games.
Second/third playthroughs are where I branch more into the other styles to try them out.

Magic, Melee, or Range; What do you prefer?

I prefer playing melee powerhouses. But in most RPGs I'll take a spellcaster because they are just so much more versatile. I think it'd a bad habit I picked up from the old D&D games.

I tend to take the stealthy route as well.. so bows are always good.
Although I'm not opposed to going hands on melee either

I go with whatever feels most comfortable with the game. In Elder scrolls, it's usually stealth and range, but when I played Two Worlds, it was melee.

I tend to go sneaky ranged lol
But I also try new builds in different playthroughs

I think I'm between Range or Melee, I rarely like to use Magic characters unless it is like a support role or a hybrid between Melee and Magic (Like a paladin per say)
