Most unexpected story twists

I wanted to play it when it released, I actually got into the first hour or so but for some reason I dropped it. Perhaps I should visit it again now.

Yeah, that too. But after Bioshock 1 & 2 I was expecting something that will do a 180 haha.

Anybody played Remember Me? Great story and also a really interesting twist. The kind of twist in Remember Me is my favourite. Not that I wouldn't be able to predict it, but I like when the game totally fools you that you don't even expect there to be a twist in the first place!

So what storyline twist surprised you the most in any game you played? Why? I understand that most of the games have pretty straightforward storylines which you can guess half way through but sometimes one or two events may slip past you. Here's 2 of my favourites.

Not a huge shocker but I spent the entire game of Bioshock Infinite hoping Booker and Elizabeth might hook up ... still felt that way at the end of the game but it became more complicated.
