    This way they can have their "instant gratification" and everyone else can just play the game the way it was thought out to be.

    People are just spoiled and morons.
    Used to be that fight games would make you play the story in order to unlock new fighters, thats nothing new.
    This is exactly why i dont read reviews nor care for anyone else opinion.

    Exactly, there is like 5 fighters out of the box (mario, kirby, link, DK, ect) and honestly, I played about 10 minutes of the game and got a fighter to fight and unlock. It adds to the fun of the game! Progression ladders help games strive to get the next goal!

    I'm not familiar with the roster but I would say as long as the majority of fighters including a few fan favorites are available out of the box then unlocking fighters is not a problem, fighting games have done this for years and players should be thankful Nintendo isn't one for monetizing the hell out of everything.
