Last year Machine games ruined the Wolfenstein IP IMHO with the recent iteration. The list of problems is huge: silly contemptible characters, performance issues, bad difficulty design, and complete and total disregard for hardcore PC gamers -- I mean not only did the "hold-to-crouch" get removed from the menu - they also removed the CVar for it.... for the love of god why?!
This is the last AAA game I bought (at the full 60$ ) and has almost turned me off entirely to AAA video games.....
Anyone else have the misfortune of trying to play Wolf TNC?
i actually like all of them.the only real issue with TNC was how weak you are for about half the game but that was explained in the story and later on you get to choose an upgrade that gives you full health and a unique ability.
some may argue the whole nazis in america and the resistance may have been for certain reasons but being that this is wolfenstein and there have been so many games already where else could they go really?
im also not into the occult stuff really, there was plenty of nazi future tech though to be funny and fun(ufo especially)
Wolfenstein to me has always been about a rather non-sensical story of nazis doing weird occult shit and your the Chuck-Norris insert trying everything you can to stop them.
When TNO introduced a "story" trying to make everything into a "character" it immediately turned me off.
From what i have seen Wolfenstein 2 went even worse in that direction.
Yea, it seemed almost like 2 studios worked on TNO. Started fun and action-packed then became baby-sit the half-retarded man and cutscene skips. To say TNC is worse though is an understatement. TNC was review-bomb into the dirt stacks.
The difference between The New Order and (I think the title is) The New Collosus is that TNO was a reboot of a very old game developed by people that really loved said old game. Sure they changed a bunch of things, but overall it was a good game. And it was very much a Wolfenstein game. TNC is just crap made by people who love the smell of their own farts. I'd be surprised if anyone who worked on TNC had ever played the old Wolfenstein. Maybe they brought up a playthrough on youtube, but I can imagine them immediatly saying "ew, this is gross" and then deleting it from their memory immediatly for being problematic or something. It's a lesser game in every single imaginable comparison. I pirated it and I still feel robbed.
