Highly rated and beloved games you didn’t like
Personally speaking here I really didn’t like the last of us and think it’s a bad story and played even worse. I tired to play that game 4 times and just feel like they watched the road and A regular zombie movie and just used the same story and reskinned it. I also feel like the gameplay was well shit. This isn’t the vast majority of course so why game is widely loved but you just don’t get why people like itTags: None

I pre-ordered Rage due to the hype train.
Haven't pre-ordered anything ever since.

Uncharted games. I've tried my best to get into them but it's so repetitive that I get bored real quick.

Baldur's Gate. I made two stabs at it of a couple hours each. I just didn't see the appeal and I loved some of the older D&D RPGs. At the beginning at least it's this weird setting mixing fantasy and modern elements (metal walls, electricity). I guess I took some default characters and a lot of them were multiclass (I don't like multiclass characters in pen and paper D&D). A lot of people on this forum have mentioned BG and just look at the "top" lists and reviews elsewhere. To each their own. Not for me.

Nope. If the gameplay is trash, then the game is trash. All the other stuff is window dressing. A good story doesn't make a game good. Whether you can get over the trash gameplay or not differs depending on the gamer. But it doesn't change the fact that you're playing a trash game. I like how you bring up Telltale Games because that's a good example of a company that thrived off of making terrible games. It doesn't really help your argument. It helps mine.

Yikes I almost forgot about SF5's launch but I seem to remember a decent amount of hype around X when it came out and it was fine I guess but I dropped interest in it faster than most fighting games.

Street Fighter 5 was not highly rated because it had a shitty launch. X kind of was, but man SF5 was rocky.

Mortal Kombat X and Street Fighter 5. Don't really know why just didn't like them as much as their previous entries.

there is a lot more to a game than its gameplay, i mean it is a verry important part but a game can still be good having mediocre or even bad gameplay! there are even games that have no gameplay at all but still are good like all the teltale games, life is strange and others like them!

Hehe, just start with the arthritis bit. I can assure you no real fighting game player is randomly mashing buttons, unless it's badly designed game which obviously don't see wide competitive play.

I really didn't like Bioshock Infinite. I loved the first game, the 2nd was fun but not memorable. Combat was repetitive and not really that much fun. I forced myself to finish it.

I hate the animations in Mortal Kombat. They seem so lazy. I get bored just watching it.

Any fighting game. It just seems like all you do is randomly mash buttons. I've got arthritis, so how can I really enjoy a game that physically hurts me to play, not to mention I completely suck at them because it hurts.

Fortnite and Last of Us. The former is just bland and people take it too seriously. The latter didn't make me like the characters and forced me to complete missions only one way despite promising otherwise.

I really hated Witcher 2. I got Assassins of Kings edition randomly for free on Steam, and there was pretty much nothing that I liked. The choosing the order of the tutorials is stupid. I went for the second then the first, so now they're teaching me how to walk when I already had to fight. I hated the inventory menu. The manditory stealth section right at the start of the game, that if you fail once you can't even go back to being stealthy until the game decides you can, so what is the god damn point? I hated that blackjacks made the same soundeffects as swords, I hated the glitches that kept happening, and after it all that I can't even go down the stairs if I try to drop 1 step from the side. Then I hated the way cutscenes constantly fade to black. Then they put me in that stupid mission where I have to stay in the circle, making me go at their slow-ass pace, railroading me again.
I tried going back once years later, to check if maybe I was the one out of touch. I concluded that no, it's the children who are wrong.
Also hated Just Cause 2. The only reason I saw it through was a completionist complex. By the time I got bored of it, I was already some 50% in and I didn't think it'd last much longer. Might copy-paste my Steam review for it later.
