Gamescom 2019: ‘Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’ Unveils Cell Saga

  • Trailer showcases bond between Goku and Gohan.
  • Food gorging and car driving shown off.
  • Culminates in battle against Cell.

Anime’s favorite father and son duo got another chance to show off at Gamescom 2019 with a new trailer for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. While much of the focus of the trailer is on the father and son and new gameplay, the fighting at the end really shows off the combat.

While previous showings of the combat have appeared a bit rough around the edges from early game moments, the battles shown in this trailer are looking much more crisp, clean, and fast-paced. Perhaps this is something that varies battle to battle, but if what we see in the trailer is in line with the final product, then DBZ fans have a lot to look forward to with what aims to be the definitive Dragon Ball Z experience. From the official game page:

  1. While I would’ve preferred if the story was about a less known period of Goku’s adventures the Cell saga is my favourite one from DBZ (and where I think the series should’ve ended). That makes the title of the game a bit misleading given that the Cell saga is all about Gohan.
