I’m Hype for People Can Fly’s Outriders

During the Square Enix presentation at E3, the game studio, People Can Fly, announced their newest game—Outriders. And it looks amazing.

Outriders is a one to three player drop-in, drop-out co-op shooter that takes place in a grimdark future. The cinematic trailer that was shown did not show any gameplay, however, a developer video that was revealed later in the presentation gave us a peak of what appears to be a third-person shooter.

The game allows you to create your own Outrider to explore the vast world, Enoch. Your character will be on the search for a mysterious signal. Creative Director Bartosz Kmita hints that there is much more depth to the game then what they are willing to reveal at the moment.

For me, the most exciting thing about E3 is original IPs or new games that we haven’t previously heard about. Sure, Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy VII remake and Dying Light 2 all look amazing too. But Outriders is the exact reason why I love watching E3 press conferences. Something new and refreshing that should provide hours of co-op fun with my friends.

People Can Fly is the Polish studio that was behind the games Bulletstorm and Gears of War: Judgement. So they clearly know their way around shooters. They are currently in development and plan on releasing the game in the Summer of 2020 for XBox One, Playstation 4, and PC.

Hopefully they give us what gears 5 cant. if it is built around coop in the same way as lost planet 2, I will definitely get it. if the monster is not as big as they showed in the trailer, or just a one-off, I will be very not happy.

looking at its arms, it is actually quadrupedal. if it is one of those lazy “theres a big monster, dont fight it, activate the objective and we will fire a big missile at it and it will die” boss fights, or it only as ranged attacks and doesnt physically try to crush you i will also be very not happy.

  2. I’ll need more information before I make an informed decision. The co-op aspect is mighty tempting, however.
