‘Kingdom Hearts III’ Getting Trailer for DLC Re:Mind This Month
- Trailer is expected sometime this winter.
- Expansion is supposed to release by the end of 2019.
- Photo Mode coming soon.
At the start of this year the highly anticipated Kingdom Hearts III finally released after over a decade in development. Developed and produced by Square Enix for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, It is the twelfth entry in the Kingdom Hearts series. It is also the conclusion of the Dark Seeker saga plot arc that began with the first title. It takes place after Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, and sees the return of protagonist Sora, Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey and Riku.
The central plot sees our heroes searching for the seven guardians of light. The goal is to find these protectors so that they can aid in attempting to stop Xehanort’s plan to bring about a second Keyblade War. Along the journey players will cross paths with many characters across various worlds, and many of them are based on different Disney and Pixar intellectual properties. After the release of Kingdom Hearts III, it was confirmed that downloadable content was in development. Then, at E3, we learned that a DLC episode titled Re:Mind was being worked on.
With the release drawing near, Square Enix confirmed at the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra: World of Tres concert in Osaka that a new trailer would be releasing in December focusing on the Re:Mind content. We also learned of other new features coming to Kingdom Hearts III, such as:
- Data Creating – A photo mode where you can freely position and pose your favorite characters to take photographs. Objects and effects can also be configured.
- Slideshow – Make a slideshow of the photographs you have taken. You may even be able to choose between frames and background music.
- Fast Pass – Makes enemies weaker.
- Black Code – Challenge play without items, Cure, etc.
These new elements will not be the focus of the upcoming trailer, and the content is currently scheduled to release this winter. In its first week of release, Kingdom Hearts III became the fastest selling, and best selling, title in the series by selling over five million copies. Both critics and fans have agreed that this is the best entry in the series, and much of that is due to the changes done to series staples, such as the Gummi Ship.
