New Kickstarter ‘Endless Memories’ Launched

  • Only seeking $12,000.
  • Will launch in 2020.
  • Demo available on PC.

Developer Homunculus Games has just launched a Kickstarter campaign for 2D action adventure game Endless Memories. If their goal of $12,000 is reached, Endless Memories will be released on Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac in 2020. There is a PC demo available here.

Endless Memories is an epic 2D action adventure Metroidvania that is set in a magical world of dreams. Each dream has its own scenarios to explore, its own challenges, and monsters to defeat. Each section has its own story and mysteries to solve. It’s up to you to awaken all sleeping consciousness, and to do so you’ll have to fight the ascended masters.

This interconnected design finds its inspiration from classic Metroidvania RPG Castlevania: Symphony of The Night. The loot system is taken from rogue-lites, and the fast-paced combat has been emulated from Dead Cells. All of these parts have been put together to create a challenging experience like no other.

Become a deadly mage as you evolve with powerful new skills and magic spells. Long-range weapons are perfect for attacking at a distance. Dash forward for melee attacks using axes, maces, swords, daggers, and many more. Equip memory runes that grant new powers and passive abilities, and combine them to better suit your play style. Ancient glyphs are available to grant new abilities that’ll improve your combat and open up paths to find new secrets.

Interact with an enormous cast of characters, and explore the varied locations. Developers have said the detailed parallax will give a unique sense of depth not found in other side-scrollers. Engage against over 250 enemies and 30-plus epic bosses. Ferocious monsters are found throughout, and each dream master has a secret to be discovered. As you progress, you’ll unlock new areas within the laboratory of dreams, and this will allow crafting runes and upgrading weapons.

There are plenty of trials to overcome and puzzles to solve, and each one will grant treasures. Return to previously completed dreams to find unique game modes and different activities, such as battle arenas, plant cultivation, and trials. Other features in Endless Memories are as follows:

  • Classic side-scrolling action, with all the modern technology.
  • Tightly tuned 2D controls. Jump, dash and slash your way through even the most deadly challenges.
  • Explore a vast interconnected world within each dream; from a dark cave to a killer toy factory.

Seeing the trailer, and reading about what Endless Memories will have is pretty impressive when you consider they only want $12,000. Just the other day, Headcannon launched their Kickstarter, but wanted $275,000. If you’ve played the demo, will you consider backing the project? What are some good experiences you’ve had with Kickstarter? Bad ones? To stay up to date on Endless Memories, make sure to follow the developers on Twitter, Facebook, and Discord.

  1. “What are some good experiences you’ve had with Kickstarter? Bad ones?” – I’ve only backed 2 projects Mighty No 9 and Shantae Half-Genie Hero. The former was a disaster and the latter turned out to be a great game. That being said once I realised that with crowdfunding developers have no responsibility to deliver the promised product and there are no protections for the backers I’m never participating in the whole system again.

Same goes for this title. It looks pretty good and I do like Metroidvania games, but I will buy it once it comes out properly.

  2. This looks like a game I would enjoy. But will not back crowd funding for video games anymore.
