New ‘No More Heroes III’ Information
- Two characters shown off.
- Artwork from Bayonetta character designer.
- A fourth entry teased.
Aside from the seemingly forgotten Bayonetta 3, there are few games I’m more excited for the release of than No More Heroes III, and it seems we’ve got some new information on Grasshopper Manufacturer and Suda 51’s upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusive. During an exclusive livestream with IGN Japan, new information and artwork was shared.
It was said that No More Heroes and No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle had trivia bits and references that may have been too hard to understand or find. In that regard, No More Heroes III will be more accessible.
Art work was shown for the upcoming game, both of which fans of the first two may recognize. The two characters shown were Kimmy Howell and three versions of Destroyman. Destroyman’s artwork and design come from Skan Srisuwan of the Thai studio, Studio HIVE. Three versions of Destroyman are: Destroyman MPD (Mass Produced), Destroyman MPD-T (Trueface ), and Final Destroyman. Each design is crazier than the last, but what makes it most interesting is that Suda says only the first two designs will make it into No More Heroes III; the final design would make it into a potential No More Heroes 4.
Fans will remember Kimmy Howell from No More Heroes 2. At the time, she was just a college student who had a crush on Travis and wanted to show this love by murdering him. This is the purest form of love, by the way. In part three, she has graduated college and somehow during her training to defeat Travis, she became a Diva. The character artwork shows that Kimmy has been designed by the extremely talented and legendary Mari Shimazaki, known for being the one who designed Bayonetta.
No More Heroes III is still scheduled to release in 2020. Suda 51 and Grasshopper Manufacturer did mention that they are hard at work on making a new five-minute trailer for fans. There was no indication as to when we might see this trailer, but The Game Awards are not far off. There was also no mention of a No More Heroes and No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle collection being ported to the Nintendo Switch, but I’m still hopeful.
No More Heroes III is going to be great, and I cannot wait for it to finally launch. The original trailer excites me beyond belief, because I never expected to see a third one.
