Officially Supported Carbot Graphics Mod Coming to ‘StarCraft: Remastered’

  • All in-game graphics have been “Carbotified.”
  • Official support from Blizzard.
  • Available next month.

The relevant part of the video above begins at 1:32, and explains that Blizzard flew the Carbot Animations team out to South Korea for the Korea Starcraft League finals so that they could announce a Starcrafts cartoon graphics pack for Starcraft: Remastered. The graphics pack will be available for purchase on July 10th, and completely replaces all graphics in the game with Carbot graphics.

Units, buildings, spells, menus, mini-maps, ladder mode, campaign mode–even the mission briefing sections are getting a cartoon makeover in the Starcrafts graphics pack.

The animation style is based on Carbot’s long-running YouTube cartoon, Starcrafts, which parodies Starcraft IIBroodwar, and the original game. The episodes range from 30 seconds to a few minutes long, and poke fun at the multiplayer aspects of the games. If you’ve never seen or heard of this parody series, check out this early episode, which will take you to the YouTube account containing the rest.

  1. I do like the simplistic presentation, but I’m not sure whether it will get old after a while.

It is really cute… I might try itout myself.

  3. Hell, it’s about time 🙂

  4. Yeah I’m not buying that. If it was free I might install the game again to take a look. Paying for a skin for a 20 year old game? LOL
