Review: As a huge horror fan this game is on the top of my list. The creaking of the USG Ishimura, screams of Necromorphs popping out of the vents of the ship, and a subtle playing of a creepy rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to top it off set an excellent nightmarish tone as you travel the ship as the main character Isaac Clarke. Not only does it have a great setting to immerse yourself but it also has some half decent game mechanics with the keyword Strategic Dismemberment playing a huge part of it. Cutting down hordes of Necromorphs can be quite satisfying and intimidating all at once. The satisfying part is usually surviving an epic encounter with the many varied creeps you can encounter on the ship and the intimidation factor is usually having to deal with ammo conservation and tight spaces when engaging them. The game also has a nice upgrade system for the many weapons you will gather on your journey of terror including upgrades for your rig. The best way to enjoy this game for me was the highest difficulty as the way it confines you is the closest you can get to feeling the many harsh dangers the main character of the story will encounter. Overall it's a great game for anyone looking to satisfy that horror itch. Close
