‘The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe’ Delayed to 2020

  • Expected sometime in 2020.
  • The original is currently 60% off.
  • More content coming, and updated graphics.

Developers Galactic Cafe and Crows Crows Crows have announced that The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe has been delayed until 2020, as it was previously planned to release sometime in 2019. When giving an estimate on when consumers could get their hands on the title, the hope is to have it out before the summer. Ultimately, however, it’s release will be determined on how development goes. The developers are still targeting consoles and PC for release.

The Stanley Parable originally released back in 2013 for PC via Steam, and it is currently on sale at 60% off. For those unfamiliar with The Stanley Parable, it is a first person exploration experience. The developers have described the game as an experience where the rules on how games should work are broken, and then broken again. You enter a world that is not meant to be understood. There are times you’ll play as Stanley, and other times where you won’t. Often times you’ll keep track of a story, and there will be times where you won’t. Choice is given, and choice is taken. You will need to figure things out as you follow along.

As you explore, however, things will slowly begin to make sense. You will find meaning where you didn’t expect to, and the various paradoxes will begin to start making sense. The developers have described the game play not inviting you to fight, but instead to dance. The Stanley Parable was based on an award-winning 2011 Source mod of the same name, only it brought with it new content, new ideas, updated graphics, and the incredible voice work from Kevan Brighting.

The developers have released a statement over the delay of The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, and it’s as follows:

When The Stanley Parable came out, a lot of people asked us for more endings and more content.

We told them it didn’t need more content, that it was fine just the way it was, that it already had the perfect number of endings.

What a sorry sack of lies that was.

We knew it. We knew it were lying and we did it anyway. We’ve carried that shame around with us for years, a burden weighing on every moment of every day.

Enough is enough.

It’s time to fix this, to unburden our shame. Let us give you our shame, for you to carry it around instead. We’re sick of it.

From the liars who brought you the award winning indie game The Stanley Parable comes The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, an expansion to the original game with more content, more endings, more whimsical adventures of the two best friends Stanley and The Narrator. Coming to PC and consoles in 2019 2020.

Tastefully seasoned with the bitter remorse of having deceived so many loyal fans for so long.

But seriously, this time it’s done. No more.

Are you excited for The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe? Did you play the original? What are you hoping to see in this update? To stay up to date on The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, make sure to follow the developers on Twitter, Facebook, and their official website.

  1. I’ve heard interesting things about it, so I’ll give it a try when it comes out on Switch.
