‘Trine 4’ Gets a Release Date and a New Trailer

  • Releases in October; pre-orders available now.
  • New skills and a 4-player mode.
  • 4-game bundle + bonus content.

Back in March, I talked about how Trine 4 would be returning to its side-scrolling roots by going 2.5D. I wrote that the game would release sometime in fall, but today the exact date has been revealed, which will be October 8th. We also get to see the brand new release trailer above. In it, we’re shown some of the new abilities available to the heroes, as well as a brief glimpse at the new 4-player multiplayer mode.

The Trine series returns to the magic of 2.5D with Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince! The three heroes of the best-selling adventure series are back, sent on a quest to retrieve the troubled young Prince Selius. Amadeus the Wizard, Pontius the Knight, and Zoya the Thief are joined together once again on a thrilling quest through fantastical fairytale landscapes teeming with danger.

Trine 4 reaches new heights in the series, bringing the most complete 2.5D gameplay experience ever to fans and new players alike.

While the game won’t be out for a few more months, you can pre-order it at the following link for $29.99, as well as a bundle of all four games and bonus content for $49.99. If you’d like to read more, be sure to check out Steam, Discord, Facebook, Twitter, and the official site.

I haven’t even played Trine 2 yet, but I’m tempted to buy this one just because it’s not a goddamn Epic exclusive.

  2. Glad that this is not releasing in September. I’ll get the collection for Switch.

I remember playing Trine 2 with a friend years ago, was probably the funniest game I played in years.

I played the other Trines on my Laptop while commuting on the train. I’ve been waiting for a new one to help that hour back and forth from work more bearable.

Ooh… That PS4 collection is tempting!

  6. Trine is one of the best platformers i’ve played, the characters are engaging and fun, even with the few lines they have. Combat is good and and chasing around secret stuff is fun. Trine 3 was definetely too short, but let’s see if the next one holds up to the first games.

  7. I really hope it will run well on the Switch because that collection is a must buy for me.
